WinMo Speed Camera Logger v1.0

The speed camera logger is a free tool for Windows Mobile 6 to allow users to easily log the location of speed cameras, red light cameras and mobile radar locations. The resulting logged data is stored in a format that can be uploaded to the speedcamerapoi.com database or can be imported into any application as .CSV formatted data.

Tabs along the bottom allow you to switch between the Logging, Data, Options and About pages.

Camera Logging Page
The main logging screen shows the current GPS status, GPS location and information of the last logged camera.

To connect the smart phones GPS antenna, press the Connect GPS button You will see the GPS state change from GPS Off, to GPS Warming Up (while locking position) to GPS OK once the lock has been fixed. This may take upto 3 minutes first time depending on the speed of your devices hardware.

Three large buttons allow single press logging of each of the types of cameras, when logging a location the data will be displayed on screen below, and a beep sound will be heard.

Camera Data Page
The data page shows a text box containing all of your logged data.

You can copy/paste all or some information to/from this page using normal actions like right click, then Copy, Paste, etc. You can also copy the entire speedcamera.txt file that will be stored in the application folder.

The format the data is stored in is shown below

Key
X – longitude coordinate
Y – latitude coordinate

TYPE – Camera type: 1 – Speed camera, 3 – Red Light camera, 5 – Mobile police camera/radar

SPEED – Speed limit: 0,20,30,40,50,60,70,80,90,100,110,120

DIRTYPE – indicates which direction the camera works in:
. 0 – any direction, 1 – only direction of travel, 2 – both directions

DIRECTION – Camera direction in degrees, stored to the nearest 45º

Options Page
In the options page you can modify settings for the GPS antenna. If you enabled Auto connect the application will connect to the GPS antenna as soon as it starts. Auto Search can be used to automatically search your smart phone to locate the GPS antenna if you do not know the correct settings. GPS COM is the com port where the GPS antenna is located. Baud Rate is the communication speed to the GPS antenna.

Download and Installation

You can download the installation .cab file from the following location.

To install simply copy the .cab file to your mobile phone and run, it will create a folder called \CameraLogger with an application named CameraLogger.exe, data logger will be stored in a .txt file called speedcamera.txt
