Escort Passport 9500i Radar Detector
I recently purchased an Escort Passport 9500i Radar Detector, this is by far the most advanced, most easy to easy, customizable and quite radar detector which I have used.
The radar detector has lot of options but it is easiest to use right out of the box using the default configurations, with it set it in automatic mode there is no need to adjust any controls.
The false alarms, which are common with many low cost detectors due to interference get cleaned up almost automatically, by hitting the mute button three times, the product recognizes that the location is a false alarm and you will never get it again.
The detector appears to have very sensitive detection and was able to spot some speed traps far earlier than i was able to see them or got close them.
The Red LED provided in the Detector is easily seen during the day. The auto brightness adjustment is also superb along with auto sensitivity, auto mute and auto volume. The detector even looks smart.. which may be important to some. Simply plugging in the power is enough for the detector to function and we are ready to go.
It blows the completion from other products.
The speed alert is another feature which I like about the Escort Passport 9500i Radar Detector. As soon as we get the radar signal, our current speed is flashed on the red LED screen as well as showing what band it is detecting. The voice alerts nice with a female voice which is not irritating.
The window mount suction cups have been upgraded from the previous model X50. All the buttons in the detector light up when it is working and it looks very good at night sitting on the windshield doing its job perfectly. Navigating around and the preferences in the menu of the radar detector have also been upgraded, they look much better when compared to the previous model X50.
All in all, a pretty nice unit.. and worth the investment if you drive a lot.
