Which Driving Offences Can Affect Your Driving Licence

Your driving licence could be negatively affected by any number of driving offences . The punishments vary depending on the severity of the offence. There are more severe penalties for driving offences which are more serious.

One of the major driving offences is driving while under the influence of alcohol. The problem is being tackled and publicised by both the government and the media. Drink driving is punishable with very heavy fines and sometimes prison sentences. The amount that your are legally allowed to have in your breath is 35micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath. If you are found to have more than that amount in your breath if breathalysed by police you could face a fine of up to £5000 and or a prison sentence of up to six months. You could also find yourself without a driving licence for up to three years. If however, your drink driving has caused an accident or a death, the punishment will be much harsher

Another driving offence is speeding. Although some speeding offences are considered to be minor, you could still face points on your licence and fines of £60. There are heavier penalties for more excessive speeding offences which could incur fines of up to £2500 and more points on your licence. You could however, lose your driving licence if the speeding offence is severe.

There are other offences such as dangerous driving which also results in driving bans, fines or points on your licence. If you are not taking due care when driving you could cause a serious accident which could put other people’s lives in jeopardy. That is why this can have a very serious negative affect on your driving licence. If you drive with no insurance you could also find that you get huge penalty points on your driving licence.

You can keep others and yourself safe if you make sure to avoid any of these driving offences and it will also keep your driving licence clean and free from any points etc.

Driving licence verification is an issue you should take care about. Don’t try applying for specific driving jobs without first holding the appropiate license.
